It takes a herd to help children and youth who have experienced abuse. When danger appears, zebras form a protective circle around their young. Our multi-disciplinary team works the same way in the Zebra Centre.

For over 20 years, the Zebra Centre has resided in a downtown Edmonton office building—not the most child-friendly location. It’s time for a bigger, better, more accessible home for the Zebra Centre so we can best serve the children and youth in our community.

Show Your Stripes by supporting this essential community initiative.

Building a better habitat for kids

As the first child advocacy centre in Canada, the Zebra Centre leads the way in serving children & youth who have experienced abuse.

We bring together a multi-disciplinary team of specialized partners, community volunteers and caring staff who work together in a child-friendly space to provide important services and supports for children and youth as they navigate through the investigative, judicial and healing process.

The new Zebra Centre has been designed to provide timely access, more personalized supports and additional resources in a free-standing, one-story building with ample parking and transit options. There will be space for our entire herd, including counsellors, detectives, social workers and more!
