Special Event Fundraising
If you have a flair for special events, you may wish to support the Zebra Child Protection Centre in a way that also brings people in your circle of friends, community group or company together for sport, celebration or just plain fun. As you enjoy the camaraderie and festivities, you can take pride in knowing that you are supporting abused children in our community.
Special events can range from a house party, were you ask for a donation or “hostess” gift of a child’s toy or game, to a golf tournament or conference.

To get the ideas flowing, here are some examples of organizers who have turned their events into good works for the Zebra Centre:
- The producers of the film For the Love of a Child—Craig Anderson Productions, The Edmonton Film Commission and IATSE Local 210 – gave up their wrap party for cast and crew in lieu of making a donation to Zebra Centre.
- The Edmonton Chapter of CMA (Certified Management Accountants) Canada named Zebra Centre the charity of choice for its 2005 golf tournament. Participants contributed through green fees, purchasing mulligans, donating stuffed toys and/or participating in the putting contest.
*Jardine Lloyd Thomson of Canada Inc. has benefited the Centre annually by hosting The Zebra Classic Golf Tournament 2003–2010.
- Attendees at the Annual Game Dinner of 2004, hosted by Chief Justice Honourable Allan H. Wachowich and Honourable Judge E.R. Wachowich, made generous donations to the Zebra Centre.
*Cheeky Productions donated proceeds of its first annual Adventure to Santa held at the Citadel Theatre in 2005 to the Zebra Centre.
- Proceeds from the Stop Violence Breakfast, hosted by a group of Edmonton lawyers and health care professionals, were donated to the Zebra Centre.
